Macon, GA – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Athletic Department has announced the 2017-18 men's basketball season schedule. The Titans will play in 17 home games and 16 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) conference games, with home-and-home series against South Georgia Technical College, South Georgia State College, Albany Technical College, Gordon State College, East Georgia State College, Andrew College, Georgia Highlands, and Atlanta Metropolitan State College.
Following four pre-season exhibition games, the Titans will open the season at home in the CGTC Classic on November 13 against Middle Georgia Prep and November 14 against Southern Crescent Technical , in Warner Robins and Macon respectively.
The Titans will then head to Alabama to face Lawson State Community College (11/10), Shelton State Community College (11/11), and Chattahoochee State Community College (11/18), before returning home for a three-game stand of non-conference match-ups.
The team will compete in the Albany Technical College Classic December 1-2, and will close out pre-season action at home against American Basketball Institute (12/6), New Rock Prep (12/9), and Handle It Prep (12/12).
In their first conference game of the season, the Titans will travel to Americus on January 3 to face South Georgia Technical College.
Sixteen of the remaining 17 regular season games for the Titans will come against conference opponents. Notable games of the final two months include a match-up on January 27 and the season-closer on February 28 versus the 2016-17 GCAA Division I champions, Georgia Highlands College.
The men's basketball team finished the 2016-17 season with a 21-10 overall record and a 11-5 record in the conference.
With a host of new faces arriving to the team, the Titans will look to returning players Mike Laster and Malik Davis for veteran leadership.
