CGTC Men’s Basketball Defeats Southern Crescent to Advance to Semifinal of GCAA Tournament on Friday
Warner Robins, Ga. — The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) men’s basketball team opened the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Tournament with a 75–65 victory over Southern Crescent Technical College on Tuesday night at Titans Arena, advancing to the conference semifinals.
The Titans used a balanced offensive effort and strong defensive pressure to control much of the contest, holding Southern Crescent to 65 points while scoring 75 of their own in the postseason opener. CGTC improved to 23–6 overall.
The Titans built momentum through consistent scoring across both halves and timely stops on defense. The Titans shot efficiently from the field and forced key turnovers that helped maintain separation from Southern Crescent throughout the second half.
Multiple Titans contributed to the scoring effort in the quarterfinal victory, with CGTC placing several players in double figures to power the offense. GCAA Player of the Year, Roosevelt Brown, led the Titans with 21 points. The team’s depth proved critical as the Titans maintained control of the tempo and limited Southern Crescent’s opportunities late in the game.
With the win, CGTC advances to the GCAA Tournament semifinal, where they will face Gordon State College. The matchup is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Titans Arena in Macon.
The Titans will look to continue their strong season and defend their home court as they pursue a berth in the GCAA championship game and keep their postseason momentum rolling.
