Warner Robins, Ga. - The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Men's Soccer program earned its first win in 2025, 6-3 on the road against the Andre College Tigers on Wednesday, September 10.
The win came after some grit and resolve, as the Titans opened to a 3-0 lead, behind a rare olímpico, corner kick goal by captain and midfielder Joel Callins around the 22nd minute, only to see the Tigers score two goals to cut it closer at halftime.
"I am proud of our team earning the win on Wednesday, which provided a needed boost in confidence," said head coach, Elvar Gudjonsson, who also earned his first win as the Titans' head coach. "I am hopeful our confidence and commitment in practice will continue to lead us to more positive results."
The start of the season has been rough for the Titans in terms of wins and losses, having earned an overall record of 1-4. Three of the losses in that span came against region competition.
The Titans' win on Wednesday was not against a region opponent, so they will have to build off that victory into upcoming region games.
Gudjonsson believes his team can overcome the early losses to compete and show well for the Titans faithful, as 8 of the next 12 games are at home.
A bright spot for the Titans has been the play of sophomore forward Luis Lopez, who leads the team in goals scored.
The Titans hit the road on Friday and Saturday, against Holmes Community College, in Alabama on Friday at 5:00 pm, CST, and Saturday at Denmark Technical College in South Caroline at 5:00 pm., EST.
