Macon, GA – Bouncing back from their season-opening loss last week, the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Lady Titans claimed a 75-69 conference win against Albany Technical College on Tuesday night.

Unable to gain their footing early, the Lady Titans found themselves down by 10 points late in the first quarter. The team's offensive struggles continued in the second quarter, as they shot 4-18 (22.2%) from the field and 0-8 from beyond the arc.

While their offense was stagnant at times, the Lady Titans were able to shift the games' momentum in their favor with their defensive prowess. Forcing Albany Tech to commit 35 turnovers, the Lady Titans scored 30 of their 75 points off of their opponent's mistakes. The team was also efficient on the defensive boards, which lead to several transition baskets and trips to the free throw line.

Much of the Lady Titans' victory can be attributed to the impressive play of their guards. Coming off the bench, sophomore Dynesha Brown led all scorers with 22 points. Brown also finished with three rebounds, one assist, and four steals.

Also scoring in double digits for the Lady Titans were Avanna Preston, Hayleigh Ross, and Tamira Anderson. Preston recorded 19 points, three rebounds, one assist, and three steals. Ross finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Tamira Anderson tallied 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists, four steals, and one block.

The Lady Titans' next game is on the road Thursday, February 4 as they head to Albany for their second game of a three-game series.
