CGTC Women's Soccer Earns First Trip to Conference Playoffs in Program History 
 
Warner Robins, Ga. - This week, the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Women's soccer program celebrated a milestone as they finished fourth in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) standings for Division-1 teams, earning the program's first appearance in postseason conference tournament play coming Tuesday, October 21. The program is in its second year of competition. 
 
The GCAA postseason conference tournament winner moves on to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Championship Tournament. 
 
The Titans will play away at conference leader, South Georgia State College, who finished the conference season with an 8-2 record, including two shutout wins over the Titans. 
 
The Titans have had an extended break since their last competition on October 1 due to cancellations of games, but in that stretch were showing strong signs of improvement winning and drawing 4 of its last 7 games. The team also hadone of its sophomore midfielders, Brithani Montalvo, earning recognition as a conference player of the week for her No. 18 national rank in assists.  
 
With some time to heal and work on fitness and prepare mentally, the coaching staff believes they can compete. 
 
"We are working hard every day to prepare for the next step ahead of us," said head coach, Annette Weiche, who in her first season as head coach, has led the program to its current success. "We need to continue to believe in each other and step out on the field in a way that makes ourselves and the College proud." 
 
The Titans have earned a 4-6-2 record (3-6-1 in GCAA) with the final home game against USC Sumter scheduled for Friday, October 17 at 7:00 PM at Atrium Health Field in Warner Robins. The final home game will also serve as Sophomore Night for both the men's and women's soccer teams. 
 
The October 21 GCAA Tournament semifinal game is at South Georgia State College with the time to be announced.
